We are free to inform you that upon implementation of the Open Public Procurement Procedure Dalekovod d.d., as Contractor, and Hrvatske autoceste d.o.o., as Employer, have concluded an Agreement worth HRK 205,551,985.51 (VAT inclusive). The above works include provision of equipment for the connecting road Zagvozd-Baška Voda together with the Sveti Ilija-Biokovo Tunnel and they are about to start on 15 Jan 2012 and shall be completed within a five-months period.

Works that are to be performed within this project are: electric power supply, road lighting, telecommunications, traffic signalling and equipment, water supply onthe access roads of the northern and southern portalsof the Sveti Ilija Tunnel, and installation works on the above tunnel as well.

The tunnel shall consist of the main4,249 m long tunnel tube, enabling two-way traffic, and the 4,255 m long service (evacuation) tube. Besides, the tunnel shall be furnished with lighting systems, ventilation, standby power supply, SOS, radio-fusion and sounding system, traffic information, remote management and control, video surveillance and traffic control, fire alarm and fire protection system anda hydrants network. Further, the Sveti Ilija Traffic Maintenance and Control Centreshall be constructedat the northern tunnel portal, while the fire station building shall be constructedat the southern tunnel portal.

The project is of utmost significance for providing a high quality connection of the Dalmatian hinterland with the town of Makarska and South Dalmatia.
